FAQs

Content:

1. Do I still need a KITAS before applying?

Yes. A valid Investor KITAS held for 3–4 consecutive years is a prerequisite for applying for an Investor KITAP.

2. Can I work in Indonesia under Investor KITAP?

You can participate in investment activities and company management, but may not get formal employment unless you qualify under director shareholding thresholds. Passive investors may have limitations.

3. Is this visa multiple-entry?

Yes. KITAP holders receive a Multiple Re‑entry Permit (MERP) valid for two years, renewable alongside the KITAP.

4. Can my family join me?

Yes. You can sponsor dependents (spouse, children) for the Family KITAP, which aligns with your residency duration.

5. What if I change companies?

Your KITAP is sponsor-specific. Changing companies requires cancellation of your current KITAP and applying for a new one via the new sponsor.

6. Can I apply for Indonesian citizenship with KITAP?

Possibly. Some categories like spouse-sponsored or long-term investors may become eligible after multiple 5-year KITAP cycles.
